The data base we are offering here was established on the basis of parish registers and other nominative documents of the XVIIth, XVIIIth, XIX centuries, computerised for research purposes by the Programme de recherche en démographie historique (PRDH) of the Université de Montréal. The information on the site rests on over 3 180 000 certificates (Description), including ALL baptisms, marriages and burials contained in Quebec catholic parish registers up to 1861 Use one or the other of the access buttons below to learn more about the nature of this extraordinary mass of information on the ancestry of French-Canadians.

You can navigate on the site free of charge and also conduct a first-level search. The information that you can obtain at this level will be limited, but it will allow you to check whether our data base contains information on the ancestor(s) you are interested in. A subscription will enable you to obtain complete information and to navigate between the different components of the data base.
